Friction massage is a special physiotherapy massage of the fingers and hands which is done by working thoroughly at each joint individually, as well as a deep massage of muscles, tendons and ligaments of hands.

This type of treatment is used to relieve pain of various origins in the muscles and joints of the hands. Most often, the cause of the pain in the fingers and hands is rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, carpal tunnel syndrome, poly-osteoarthrosis (knotted fingers) and inflammation of the tendons and small muscles around the thumb. The causes of these diseases can be very different – such as hypothermia, metabolism changes, lots of stress, as an effect of continuous professional or household overload of fingers and hands. Most often these  diseases and symptoms affect those who does lots of repetitive movements with hands, for example working on computers, sewing machines, pianists, and housewives. 2. Comprehensive Pain-Management  Program

Rehab2Pain is an impulse that lets us know there is something wrong with our body. It is always a symptom of something else, albeit a highly unpleasant symptom. Physical pain will ruin your mood and your day just as effectively as emotional pain, and those who struggle with it on daily basis will tell you that they would do anything to get rid of it.

Statistics tell us that every other human being on the planet suffers from long term or permanent pains. That’s half of the global population affected by chronic pains, the kind of pains that stick with you for a long, long time.

Here at the Future Healing Toronto rehab center we are committed to helping our patients eliminate acute and sub-acute pain and relieve the symptoms of their chronic conditions. Our comprehensive rehabilitation program combines a variety of non-invasive, drug free techniques used to treat a number of painful conditions –pains in the neck, back or joints, acute or chronic muscle pain, sciatica pain, pain caused by arthritis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, as well as a number of other professional and sports injuries. We also offer post-trauma and post-operative rehabilitation, as well as treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis and post-pneumonia complications.

Rehab1Those of you looking at Toronto rehab options should know that our comprehensive rehabilitation program may include the following treatments:

Ultrasound: used to treat pain conditions and to stimulate tissue healing

IFC machine: used to reduce swelling and pain and restore muscle function

TENS machine: used to block pain signals and provide lasting pain relief

Infrared light: utilizes the healing powers of light, addressing many conditions such as lumbar spine strain/sprain, sciatica, rheumatic arthritis, frozen shoulder, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, eczema, etc.

ALMAG: pulsed electromagnetic field therapy device provides holistic care to directly alleviate back, neck, joint and other common pains.

Hot/ice packs: ice packs induce blood vessels to constrict, while heating pads relax them. This improves circulation, reduces pain and swellings, and relieves muscle spasms.

Speleotherapy in a salt-iodine cave: 1-hour long sessions among 8 tons of natural Black Sea salt have the same effect as 3 days at the seaside. These sessions improve your respiratory system, immune system, central nervous system and circulatory system.

Neuro-development treatment: special post-stroke exercise program aimed to restore motor ability, participation and function.

Special exercise program: helps with anti-inflammatory and pain management therapy, and consists of isometric and isotonic exercises.

Rehabilitation treatments are provided by Genady Gorohovsky, a Registered Acupuncturist with Physiotherapy academic background and over 25 years of medical and health care experience.
